A Non-traditional School Year Calls for Non-traditional Schooling

As the 2020-21 school year approaches there are a lot of uncertainties surrounding exactly how this is going to work. One week in, one week out. Some are two weeks out and one week in and some, are just simply out. Whether your county or state has mandated every other week schooling schedules or you have opted for your child to participate in distance learning, it’s clear this school year will be anything but traditional.

So, let us make a suggestion. Try school from the beach! Here are 4 good reasons to consider oceanside schooling:

1. Our home is your home.
Safety is the name of the game, but we are all getting a bit tired of staying home. So, come to one of ours! We are taking extra precautions in our cleaning procedures to make sure you are safe, and our luxury vacation homes are single residency so it’s just you and yours. We also take great pride in the fact that all you need to do is pack a suitcase when you come stay with us. That’s because we provide all those at-home touches to help you feel comfy and cozy. Fresh linens on the beds, fluffy bath and beach towels and fully stocked kitchens are just a few of the amenities we offer our guests.

2. Enough room (and wifi) for everyone.
Trying to work from home with kids logging on to virtual classrooms, grandma trying to watch her afternoon stories and wifi that only works in certain areas of the house can lead to high frustrations and a very crowded living area. At Sea Scape, our homes are fitted with highspeed internet and wifi throughout for easy, fast connectivity. You can work productively; kids can enjoy an ocean view while online and grandma gets to watch her stories in peace.

3. Remember fieldtrips? Yeah, us too!
Take a day trip to Kure Beach and visit Fort Fisher – a Confederate fort during the Civil war. Then head over to the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher to get hands-on with some sea life. Take a quick kayak or SUP paddle at low tide to Sharks Tooth Island. See Venus Fly Traps in action at Stanley Rehder Carnivorous Plant Garden at Piney Ridge Nature Preserve or visit Airlie Gardens, a premier garden featuring 67-acres of walking paths, gardens, seasonal blooms and live oaks. So much to learn, so little time!

4. Let us not forget the ocean breeze.
Is it true a little sand, sun and salt can cure anything? We like to think so! Come see for yourself. Take the family for a bike ride around Wrightsville’s famous Loop or a leisurely stroll down pristine beaches to help you unwind. Let the ocean breeze rejuvenate and invigorate. Remember, fall at the beach is just like summer but with less crowds!

Due to the current pandemic, the way we go about our daily lives and routines is very different than what we were accustomed to. Parents went to work. Kids went to school. Weekends were filled with social events, football practices and soccer leagues. Beach vacations traditionally only came once a year. Now, though, there is an opportunity to create a different type of learning atmosphere and combine it with the love and fun of your annual beach vacation. Take a week or two (or four) and bring your classroom to a Sea Scape Properties luxury beach vacation home. We look forward to hosting you!
