About the Wilmington Riverwalk

The Riverwalk is the starting point for several local tours helping visitors get to know Wilmington on land and water.
Board a vintage trolley car for a Wilmington trolley tour exploring the historic district, TV film locations, preserved mansions, and other attractions (these tours are seasonal from April to October). Trot down Water Street on a horse-drawn carriage with Springbrook Farms for an age-old way of exploring the historic district. Cruise on the legendary Henrietta with Cape Fear Riverboats for sightseeing along the waterfront, snacks, and a narrated excursion.

The riverwalk extends into the historic district, where buildings of the past are given new life as modern shops. The Cotton Exchange pays homage to its former role as a major trading hub in the late 19th century. Today, visitors can weave through eight buildings featuring locally owned retail shops, food and candy stores, footwear, jewelry, aromatics, stationery goods, and the perfect gifts to take home after your vacation. Chandler’s Wharf is a converted late-1800s warehouse now housing artisan shops and restaurants.

Candles Etc. is famous for its Riverwalk Stroll scent, bringing you right to the waterfront every time you light the candle.
