Where to Stay in Wrightsville Beach: 3 Tips for Choosing Between a Hotel and a Vacation Rental

You finally have your family aligned on your next vacation, and you’ve chosen Wrightsville Beach. Great! It’s a wonderful beach with beautiful aqua water and pristine sands that go on for miles. It has great restaurants and night life. So now you just have to find a place to sleep!

Therein lies the question. Are you just needing a place to lay your head, or will more ‘living’ be part of your experience?
It can be a tough decision – but don’t put it off because beachside accommodations go quickly!
Here are three things to consider as you work through your decision to stay in a hotel or rent a home:

When are you coming and how long do you plan to stay?

If you’re planning a trip to see us during the customary summer season (Memorial Day thru Labor Day), it’s important to note vacation homes will only rent for 7-night stays. So, if you need a short getaway and want a Wrightsville Beach oceanfront experience maybe a hotel would be best. There are wonderful places to stay, from the Holiday Inn Resort down to the Blockade Runner. It’s always important to check our property calendars though.
Note — Cancellations and early checkouts can sometimes leave a few straggling days here and there that Sea Scape is happy to fill. If there is a property you’ve been eyeing and only have a few days to spend with us, let us know!

If you’re coming for a week or more, a Sea Scape Properties vacation rental at Wrightsville Beach is the answer. Our homes offer significantly more options for cooking meals with fully decked-out kitchens. Rentals also offer more space to spread out and spend time with family, watching movies, and playing games.

How many are you traveling with?

If there are just 2 or 4 of you, a hotel may be a great choice, but space will be tight. One room with two queen sized beds and a shared bath may not be your idea of a vacation. At Sea Scape Properties, we offer homes to accommodate just a few — like Heaven’s View or many — like The Beach House! With multiple bedrooms and multiple baths, there’s more room to spread out. There will be fewer lines outside bathroom doors and more privacy for all involved. Even little cottages such as Sea View A or B can be perfect for just 1 or 2.

What are your overall expectations?

It’s pretty safe to say everyone expects to have a memorable and enjoyable vacation. Time well spent reconnecting with family and friends making memories that will last a lifetime.  Does this seem plausible from adjoining hotel rooms? Of course not! You need room to relax and spread-out. Room to enjoy a little quiet reading and room to celebrate with your traveling companions. At Sea Scape we also offer all the amenities of home to help make your vacation as stress free as possible.

Ultimately, choosing between a vacation rental and a hotel comes down to these three things. Depending on your length of stay, the size of your group, and what your overall expectations are, one option might be a clear winner over the other. In the same way, what works for one vacation might not work for the next. There is one thing we know for sure: at Sea Scape, we work hard to make sure your vacation is everything you hope for!

We’d love to see you at Sea Scape Properties. Let us know how we can help you find the right spot for your next Wrightsville Beach vacation!
