Microbreweries, also known as craft breweries, are small-scale breweries that produce a limited amount of beer. They typically have a brewing capacity of less than 15,000 barrels per year. Microbreweries have become increasingly popular in recent years, as consumers have become more interested in trying new and different beers.
There are 16 breweries just in Wilmington and all but 2 are local. Actually, Wilmington was named one of “America’s Beeriest Beach Towns” and was listed among the top five places to experience a “beery, beachside getaway” by CraftBeer.com. Their goal — bring flavor distinct beers to Wilmington and do it in the last operating livery stables in the city, The McLellan Building on Dock Street.
