If you’re staying in one of our Topsail Island vacation rentals, then no need to worry about parking! But, if you’re just passing through and want to get a little beach time in, it’s important to know what the parking rules are. Here are recent Topsail parking information guidelines as per the city websites:
4X4 Drive On Lot Parking Rates
Public parking availability is limited each summer because of the popularity of the Town’s public beach, especially on weekends and holidays. To avoid a citation and $50 fine, get there early and park in designated areas.

Surf City’s paid parking season runs from March 1-October 31. When visiting the beach during this time, you will need to pay to park from 9 am – 6 pm. You can purchase an hourly, daily, weekly, or season pass to accommodate your visit.
To obtain hourly, daily, or weekly passes use their text-to-park option (text SURFB to 25023) or scan a QR code once you arrive to your preferred parking spot. The hourly rates are staggered with parking spots closest to the beach being $5/hr, while outlying lots and spaces are $3/hr.

The South End Parking lot (between Shoreline Drive and Inlet Drive) offers paid public parking from March 1-October 31 from 9 am – 5 pm daily. The cost is $5/hr. (up to 4 hrs.) or $25/day.
The Parking Lot is located next to Topsail Beach Sound Access #1 at the end of Shore Line Dr. Visitors will see a newly posted sign on the left-hand side of the entrance to the parking lot.
There are 3 ways to pay for parking on the SurfCAST system:
All parking permits will use license plates for verification and enforcement personnel will scan them multiple times a day to confirm a valid parking permit, and issue parking citations to those who have not paid for their parking.
